The Stables

Bedlam's Creatures
The residents of the stables.

Your guide stops at the entranceway.
"These are the stables, where Lord Master Bedlam's creatures reside. I will tell you that they are creations of his, but.. I dare not look further then that explanation."
Before you stretches the stables, with twelve stalls, six per side, half of which are currently empty. At the far end is a set of double doors. There is no trace of familiar equine scent, but instead the almost too sweet scent of death.

Over each stall is a plaque, elegantly etched with names. The names too send a chill through you.
Malice...
Famine...
Death...
Hunger...
Despair...
Destruction...
And a second set of plaques on the opposite side of the aisle, that hold two names, one in a language that you do not recognize, with the obvious translation below it...
Vengeance...
Slaughter...
Carnage...
Rape...
Terror...
Slayer...
As the names register in your mind, the Master of this place steps from the shadows.

He offers a chilled little smile, moving on cat soft feet to the nearest occupied stall, and flipping open the heavy bolts on the door, brings out the creature that resides within.

The flickering light plays over this magnificent creature, that stands 17 hands if it's an inch. Its coat is as black as the deepest night, the mane thick and glorious, the tail sweeping the floor.

It's the eyes that first you note are different. No soft dark eyes, but rather evil looking eyes of red, that regard you with a cold distain.

It shifts slightly, a beautiful fluid move in and of itself, were it not for the disquieting fact that it has not hooves at the end of the powerful legs, but claws. Wicked looking things, that gleam dully. A toss of that head, and a baring of teeth reveal even more of this creatures nature. No equine teeth here, but sharp almost fangs.

No words are spoken in the presence of this creature or the master of this place. After allowing you to drink your fill of the sight, he returns the creature to its stall, ensuring the locks are solidly in place, and then vanishes.

Your guide gives an almost shiver, before carefully heading down the exact center of the wide aisle.
"You'd do well to keep to the center... it's before feeding time still."
Reaching the far end, your guide opens one of the double doors. "A last small thing here to show you...come.."
Slipping out the door, your' shown the back courtyard, in the center of which sits a carriage.

Sleek, black as night, with an almost ominous feel to it, the carriage sits in the shadows, the Bedlam Crest in gold on the door barely gleaming. There is the faintest of thuds in front of it is the only indication of the team of six coal black horses that pull it.
The inside is no less incredible, with upholstery of deep black, plush velvet, with matching curtains of even darker black velvet on the windows, and paneling of ebony, polished to a dull gleam, and inlaid with intricate designs in beaten copper.

Your guide closes the door with a soft click and moves back toward the stables. "Come.. there are other places to visit still... Lord Master hunts this night"
and with that explanation the tour of the stables ends, as you return to the main part of the mighty and chilling Citadel.
